Why am I not in this photo?

Day One - We faced Harvard Business School and lost by one point in a spirited game. BFD got his nose cracked while making a poor tackle (he deserved it). Later that day WPRFC played South Jersey. It was a tough tight game and BFD got his nose cracked by a prop (#3 with the black scrum cap) just seconds into the second half. We lost by six but the team learned a lot about itself - and the new recruits (Lou, Ken and Bill) learned about the game from the inside while the uninsured (Ed and Nutter 2.0) observed the mayhem.

Some of the new recruits even whored a third game against Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The team cheered Lou, Dain and Jim Bo as they tore into the game. Jim Bo moved from hooker to wing forward - and in the first scrum tried to bind onto the eight man and push the second rows. The catcalls from the sideline were not very supportive of his unique approach to the scrum. Lou was a hitting machine getting loud calls of "LOU!" from the WPRFC faithful everytime he hit someone. Jim Bo - trying to tackle a player - missed and slid 4 metres in a giant mud puddle just out of bounds - right in front of the rest of the team. We cheered. It was the highlight of the day - next to BFD's growing nose.

The team then went to a wonderful nearby restaurant that Greg H. knew of and chowed down. It was good food and a good time. Ali, as usual, was checking out the wait staff. Lou was given the Man of the Match jacket.

That night was Malley's bachelor party at Kinsey's. Quote of the night from Jim Bo "Honey if it was any more real I would have cum two minutes ago and asked you for a sandwhich". Just Piddlin' w/ the Bean.

Day Two - We show up with 18- Severn River B side shows with 12 and decides there are too many of us. With hours to spare the team spent much of the time trying to stay warm. We had a rematch with South Jersey which we lost. I'd really rather not talk about it.

All in all it was a fun week end and a useful lesson for the new recruits of West Potomac. We may lose the game, but we never lose the party!

Soon we won't lose the game either. POTOMAC!
